Moon Studios delays No Rest for the Wicked 1.0 launch to 2027

Moon Studios has announced that the 1.0 full release of No Rest for the Wicked has been postponed from its original October date to 2027. Currently available in Early Access via Steam, early access players will receive a founder’s pack as a consolation prize.

Reasons for the delay and planned improvements

  • Team Size & Quality Standards: The developer behind Ori cited its small team size as a primary reason for the schedule adjustment, noting that “close is not good enough for our 1.0 full release.”
  • Avoiding Competition: The extended timeline shifts the game’s release out of the launch window of Grand Theft Auto VI.
  • Refining Core Systems: The additional months will be used to enhance performance, revamp the class system, and polish the entire game to internal standards.

Upcoming Betas and community involvement

  • Beta Testing Schedule: The extra time allows for additional closed and open beta tests in the coming months, giving the community an opportunity to help shape the final 1.0 build.
  • Next Test: The next beta session is scheduled for December, with more details to be released soon.
