PS5 Pro Enhancements: PSSR Enforcement

  • Default Latest PSSR Version: The primary feature of Firmware 14.0 automatically applies the latest version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) by default.
  • Forced Upscaling for Legacy Supported Games: The updated PSSR model is forced onto titles that had initial PS5 Pro support but were never updated by their developers, promising improved visuals and performance for most enhanced games.
  • Manual Override: In rare cases where performance is negatively impacted, users can manually disable the forced PSSR setting via the console menu.

System-Wide refinements for all consoles

  • Voice Chat Visual Indicator: Voice chats now feature a visual indicator showing which participant is currently speaking.
  • Community Activities Widget: A new home screen widget displays high-traffic online games and lists the top 10 most popular titles in the user’s country.
  • Bluetooth Toggle: Adds an option to turn off Bluetooth connectivity on both the PS5 and PS5 Pro, designed for specific scenarios such as esports tournaments requiring precise accessory management.
  • Performance & Stability: Includes standard system software performance and stability updates. Automatically downloaded for consoles with auto-updates enabled.
