The official date was revealed via the Nintendo Today! app following a new gameplay trailer that provided a deeper look into the game’s world and mechanics. Previously announced as a natural evolution of the single-player campaigns from the main series, Splatoon Raiders adapts the franchise’s signature multiplayer mechanics into a PvE experience set within a semi-open world.

Exploring the Spirhalite islands

The trailer revealed that the adventure takes place across the Spirhalite Islands, a vast archipelago where players travel by leaping from island to island. This exploration is supported by several new systems:

  • Resource Collection: Players gather materials to upgrade both melee and long-range weaponry.
  • Combat & Scoring: A scoring system is tied to clearing waves of enemies throughout the journey.
  • The Premise: According to the official description, players must face “hordes of aggressive sea creatures called Salmonids in search of treasure.”

New abilities and characters

The footage offered a glimpse of exclusive special abilities not found in the franchise’s competitive multiplayer modes. It also introduced some of the characters players will encounter during the campaign.

With its launch scheduled for July 23, 2026, Splatoon Raiders stands as a key part of Nintendo’s strategy to expand the franchise’s reach beyond its established competitive online audience.
