Capcom has officially announced that Resident Evil Requiem has exceeded 6 million copies sold worldwide. This feat was achieved just few days after its official launch on February 27, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.

A critical and commercial triumph

The game, which transports players to an isolated and mysterious village, has been acclaimed for its dense atmosphere and the evolution of the RE Engine. According to Capcom’s data, the PlayStation 5 version leads in sales, representing approximately 45% of the total, followed closely by PC and Xbox consoles.

Comparison with predecessors

For comparison, Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 4 remake took slightly longer to reach similar numbers. This new record for Requiem solidifies Capcom’s strategy of simultaneous multiplatform launches and heavy global marketing investment.

Future outlook

Capcom stated they are “extremely satisfied” with Requiem’s performance and confirmed that new updates are already on the way to keep the player base engaged. With this momentum, market analysts predict the game could surpass 10 million units before the end of the quarter.
