In a major departure from its traditional annual release cycle, Electronic Arts and Codemasters have officially announced the EA Sports F1 25: 2026 Season Pack. This massive paid expansion will serve as the gateway to Formula 1’s highly anticipated new era, bringing updated technical regulations, overhauled car designs, and an expanded grid directly to the base 2025 game.

The expansion is scheduled to launch on June 3, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Rather than purchasing a standalone F1 26 title, players will use this add-on to completely overhaul their existing F1 25 experience.

Adapting to F1’s new technical era

The 2026 Season Pack meticulously implements the real-world FIA regulatory overhauls designed for the sport’s next generation:

  • Nimbler Machines: In line with the new regulations, the virtual 2026 cars are visibly smaller and lighter, drastically altering the vehicle physics and offering a more dynamic, responsive handling model for both controller and steering wheel users.
  • Active Aerodynamics: The introduction of advanced, responsive active aero features will require real-time strategic management during races.
  • Overtake Mode: A new engine deployment system adds tactical depth to wheel-to-wheel combat, accompanied by revised driving assists to keep the updated mechanics accessible to all skill levels.

Audi and Cadillac expand the grid

For the first time in years, the official Formula 1 grid expands to 11 teams as two automotive giants make their virtual debuts:

  • Audi: Transitioning from its partnership phase, Audi officially enters the grid as a fully integrated factory team (taking over the former Sauber outfit).
  • Cadillac: Marking the arrival of a major American automotive manufacturer, Cadillac joins the paddock with a distinct American motorsport aesthetic.

The driver market has been completely updated to reflect the 2026 rosters. Notable lineup changes include rookie sensations and veteran movements: Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hülkenberg take the wheel for Audi, while Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez anchor the brand-new Cadillac team. Additionally, young prospects like Arvid Lindblad (Racing Bulls) and Isack Hadjar (Red Bull Racing) shake up the grid.

Race in Madrid ahead of the Real Grand Prix

The centerpiece of the new track list is MADRING, a brand-new hybrid street circuit winding through Madrid, Spain. Spanning 5.4 km and featuring 22 high-adrenaline corners, this marks the sport’s first completely new circuit design since 2023. Sim racers will be able to master the track digitally months before the real-world grid arrives in Madrid for the Spanish Grand Prix in September 2026.

“My Team” returns for a 12th outfit

The fan-favorite My Team mode returns with full compatibility for the expanded 2026 setup. Players can now create a custom 12th team on the grid, designing their own visual identity, managing facilities, and signing drivers to compete directly against the real-world 2026 lineups.

Seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton participated in the expansion’s media rollout, praising the developers for faithfully capturing the radical shift in power unit delivery and active aero behavior that defines this new era of motorsport.
