Crimson Desert continues to evolve with patch expanding storage capacity

The 1.02.00 update for Crimson Desert has granted significantly more space for storing equipment and important items.

Following its late March release by Pearl Abyss, Crimson Desert continues to transform through frequent updates. This past Saturday (April 4), the game received Update 1.02.00, which aims to minimize item storage issues, provided players have advanced several hours into the story.

Greymane camp storage overhaul

The developer explained that the update changes the storage space available at the Greymane Camp. Players can now upgrade their structures to reach a total of 1,000 storage slots, a massive increase from the initial 240 slots.

  • Level Progression: Players gain 100 additional slots for each camp evolution level.
  • Final Tier: The final structural level is the exception, unlocking an additional 360 slots.
  • Requirements: As upgrading the camp is a demanding process, this update is particularly vital for those who have already made significant progress in the game.

Quality of life improvements

Update 1.02.00 introduced several other changes to enhance the player experience:

  • Visual Toggles: Players can now disable the display of equipped helmets.
  • Fast Travel: A new fast travel portal has been added to the Pailune region.
  • Fixes & Design: Various quest bug fixes and design alterations for certain rare monsters were implemented.
  • Cosmetics: A new armor set for cats has been added.

Control schemes: basic vs. classic

The update introduces new control options, allowing players to choose between the “Basic” scheme (introduced in a previous update) and the “Classic” system (present at launch).

  • Classic Scheme: Requires players to repeatedly press the sprint button to gain rhythm.
  • Basic Scheme: Players only need to hold the button for the protagonist, Kliff, to gain momentum.

Technical enhancements

Pearl Abyss has also implemented visual improvements, including enhanced FSR upscaling for the console versions. The full list of changes is available on the game’s official Steam page, where the title has currently reached an 82% approval rating among players.
