Although rumors suggested an official reveal would occur this past Thursday (April 16), the day passed without word from Ubisoft. However, Insider Gaming reports that Ubisoft held a private presentation for selected media outlets where they confirmed the game’s launch date.

Key release and gameplay details

  • Launch Date: Sources claim the game is scheduled to hit stores on July 9, 2026.
  • Official Reveal: Ubisoft has reportedly pushed the full public reveal, previously expected this week, to next week.
  • RPG Elements: Leaks suggest this remake will incorporate RPG mechanics from more recent franchise entries and expand the narrative with new NPCs and events.
  • Structural Changes: While Edward Kenway’s story is expected to remain intact, rumors indicate that Ubisoft may remove the modern-day “outside the Animus” segments from this new version.

Leak on Ubisoft connect

While the studio remained silent on Thursday, the game made an accidental appearance on the Ubisoft Connect launcher.

  • Promotional Image: Reddit users spotted a brief promotional banner before it was taken down.
  • Edward Kenway’s New Look: The leaked art features Kenway in a dark outfit with gold details, likely one of the new customization options available in Resynced.

Legacy of the original

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a remake of one of the series’ most successful chapters. Upon its original release, it was praised for deviating from the traditional formula by focusing heavily on naval exploration and ship-to-ship combat, centered around a charismatic protagonist.
