Unlocked after completing the main story campaign, this new mode offers an intense, combat-focused experience starring Leon S. Kennedy.

Gameplay: high stakes and “enhancer abilities”

Leon Must Die Forever tasks players with revisiting campaign locations to take down strengthened enemies and reach a final boss before the timer expires.

  • Progression: The mode features five escalating difficulty levels.
  • Enhancer Abilities: Players can unlock exclusive special skills by filling an “enhancement bar” through enemy eliminations.
  • Roguelite Elements: Area order, progression paths, and available skill options are randomized in every run to ensure high replayability.

PC updates and DualSense support

The latest patch also brings significant quality-of-life improvements, particularly for PC players. The game now offers full native support for DualSense controller features, including:

  • Adaptive triggers
  • Haptic feedback
  • Motion sensor controls

New collectibles: apparel and Resident Evil Amiibos

Beyond the digital update, Capcom is expanding the Resident Evil brand with new physical merchandise:

  • Apparel: A new clothing line inspired by the Leon Must Die Forever mode, featuring hoodies, sweatshirts, and t-shirts.
  • Amiibos: In a historical first for the franchise, official Resident Evil Amiibos will be released on July 30, 2026. The first figures in the collection will be Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft.
