Nintendo has officially announced that the iconic 1999 3D platformer Donkey Kong 64 is finally joining the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. Subscribers will be able to access the game starting June 4, 2026, pushing the service’s total Nintendo 64 library to a milestone of 43 titles.
Donkey Kong 64
Developed by Rare during their golden era, the game allows players to swap between five unique members of the DK Crew to explore massive worlds, solve puzzles, and thwart the villainous King K. Rool.
“Join Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Tiny Kong, Lanky Kong, and Chunky Kong in the fight to keep DK Island safe from K. Rool and his troupe of Kremlings. Climb, swim, and jump with each of the five Kongs through treacherous, puzzle-filled areas, making the most of their special abilities and weapon upgrades.”
To play Donkey Kong 64 and the rest of the N64 library on either Switch 1 or Switch 2, users must be subscribed to the premium Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier. In addition to N64 classics, this tier grants access to SEGA Genesis games and select DLC expansions (such as the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass).
